When To Use It

The hockey stance is the building block for nearly every skill in hockey, having a good athletic hockey stance will give you more balance and power with skating and shooting, and more control when passing and stickhandling.

2 Common Mistakes

  1. Hinging at the hips (leaning forward) too much causing your weight to be on the stick or your toes
  2. Not getting low enough with feet wide to provide the necessary balance
